Once she grew out of that program, she was ready for her next challenge\u2014and that\u2019s when her family learned about the Special Olympics team in Danbury. She\u2019s been active in Special Olympics for six years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Danielle\u2019s parents now serve as certified coaches in Special Olympics, and it has become a huge part of their lives. They say the impact of the program on these athletes is life changing. Some of the participants have profound physical or intellectual disabilities, but Special Olympics makes sure they all have the opportunity to enjoy the entire experience without barriers. According to Danielle\u2019s parents, they\u2019ve never heard an athlete complain about their disability\u2014they only want to have the chance to compete and improve themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preferred is proud to serve as a sponsor for the Danbury Special Olympics team.
