However, once they are designed, our customers find them useful in many other situations for many other nuclear facilities. One great example is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.preferred-mfg.com\/products\/nuclear\/pressure-water-reactor-(pwr)\/plant-safety-equipment\/portable-cavity-shield-frame.html\">Portable Cavity Shield Frame<\/a>, which was initially designed for a customer who needed to create an ALARA zone inside a high-radiation area within a radiologically controlled area (a \u2018hot RCA\u2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This stainless-steel structure was designed as a mobile ALARA waiting zone. It is designed so that plant-supplied lead blankets can be arranged and hung in two layers (offset by 6\u201d) that are secured using plant approved ty-wraps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has two stainless steel channels at the top of the frame so it can be lifted and maneuvered with a fork truck after the lead blankets are loaded. Under the channels, there is a standard doorway clearance of 80\u201d.
