The RPV Nut and Washer Centering Tool is one of those tools designed to support both reduced critical path time and lower worker dose. It is designed to center RPV nuts and washers on the RPV flange prior to head set, enabling safe transport of the RPV head with pre-loaded nuts and washers.

How it works

As the RPV head is lowered, the centering tools engage the studs and allow the washer and nut to be deposited onto the stud while the tool remains safely inside the nut. The design helps keep the nut and washer properly controlled and aligned during the head-set process. The tool, itself, stays contained and controlled throughout the process.
