Cavity Lift
During refueling outages, it isn’t always feasible or safe, to use a cavity ladder to transport personnel and material from the refuel floor to the cavity floor. That’s why Preferred Engineering designed a temporary Cavity Lift designed to transport up to 1000lbs in situations where a crane isn’t ideal and a ladder may not be the best option.
The Cavity Lift reduces risk and saves time. No more concerns of ladder falls, this device allows workers to wear all the appropriate protective clothing without adding to the risk of heat stress or a ladder accident. It also provides direct vertical access, eliminating complex travel paths, which is helpful both for worker safety and outage efficiency.
The lift is designed with redundant, mechanically independent, lift cables to ensure safe and reliable transport. It can be installed with just one crane pick and is operational in less than 30 minutes. For extra security, the lift can also be manually operated in case automated controls are compromised.
Overall, the Cavity Lift is a terrific option for facilities that want to increase safety, reduce risk, and improve the efficiency of their refueling outages.
