Preferred Marks Centennial with Celebration, Visit from Danbury’s Mayor

Preferred marked its 100th year of business with a Covid-19 conscious celebration at the end of very busy month, on July 31, 2020. The outdoor celebration was split into two events underneath a tent outside on the property.

At 9:30 AM the Mayor of Danbury, Mark Boughton, joined us underneath the tent for “Coffee with the Mayor.” The Mayor greeted Mr. Bohn and the Preferred team culminating in the presentation of a executive proclamation from the city of Danbury. The Mayor commended the Preferred team for its success especially in addressing environmental needs in the industrial sector and its support of the Danbury community in the forms of charitable donations to Danbury Hospital, the Danbury Music Center, St. Jude’s, New Pond Farm, and others.

Later that afternoon, team members, some family members, and invited guests reconvened under the tent for a Clambake, the honoring of long time team members, and company trivia, as well as a performance from “Magic Dave,” David Ferst who is a mentalist and magician out of Westchester, NY.

Mr. David Bohn, current CEO, President and 3rd generation of family-owned Preferred, thanked the team noting that previous company leadership accomplished great feats, but he believes his greatest accomplishment to be the team currently assembled at Preferred, the gathering of the people and great minds that have made Preferred profitable and cutting-edge even in changing, difficult, and unprecedented times.
