Record attendance at this year’s ASPE Tech Symposium!
A few weeks ago, we told you about two members of Preferred’s team of product specialists being selected to present at the 2021 ASPE (American Society of Plumbing Engineers) Tech Symposium in San Diego. Lee Carnahan, from our West territory, joined Len Swihart, our California Combustion Manager, to talk about “Fuel Oil-Handling Systems for Generators & Boilers.” They covered all aspects of above-ground and underground fuel oil handling systems, and they reviewed design development, key questions, time-saving rules of thumb, and different options to achieve owners’ goals.
We’re pleased to report that their workshop was a great success, attracting 40 attendees and generating vigorous discussion and lots of questions. The ASPE Tech Symposium itself shattered its attendance record, with more than 610 attendees eager to learn about the newest innovations and plumbing products from 54 of the industry’s top manufacturers and service providers. According to the ASPE, numerous attendees remarked on how glad they were to be back in person for a national ASPE event. The education sessions, which included Len and Lee’s workshop, presented a range of timely topics such as reopening buildings after shutdowns, changes to the latest plumbing codes, the environmental benefits of heat pump water heaters, balancing sustainability and water safety, and more.
“After such an unsettled time, it was extremely exciting to see our members, sponsors, and industry partners at the 2021 ASPE Tech Symposium,” said William “Billy” Smith, FASPE, ASPE’s Executive Director/CEO. “As reflected in the attendance numbers, the industry remains committed to ASPE and our members, and I wholeheartedly thank everyone who took the time to travel to San Diego to be part of such an amazing event.”
Preferred extends our thanks to the ASPE and all the organizers of this fantastic event. We’re glad we were able to speak to this great group of professionals, and we are already looking forward to the Conference & Expo in 2022!
