When one nuclear facility needed a better way to perform maintenance on a three head hoist during a refueling outage, they turned to PE with a request…find a safe, faster alternative to the polar crane and man basket system they had been previously using.

Our engineering team worked closely with the plant to understand their workflow, space constraints, safety requirements, and compliance needs. The result was a custom aluminum work platform, built to NUREG 0612 and ANSI N14.6 standards.  It also addressed the core issue of reducing outage time while keeping technicians safe.
