The Preferred Engineering MSL Plugs allow inboard MSIV testing in the direction of flow, performing all MSIV testing off of Critical Path, passively sealing against the nozzle wall and requiring no additional hydraulic or pneumatic force once installed.
The base design includes two static seals or one static and one inflatable seal at the stations. MSL Plugs include visual verification of proper installation at vertical cross braces, providing confidence that the plugs are properly installed.
